Looking Belly Beautiful is easy! Tips for a Great Session:
  • Schedule your session when you are 28-24 weeks. I started showing later with both my pregnancies and waited until 38 weeks. If you show earlier, schedule earlier.
  • Bring in your ultrasound. We can take a very special photo of mama and baby.
  • your maternity session includes the baby's father and any older siblings.
  • If you want to show your bare tummy, wear loose-fitting clothing to avoid elastic/clothing marks.
  • Put on lotion at least an hour before your session to avoid the shiny belly look and straining your clothes.
  • Moisturize your knees and elbows.
  • Remove tight fitting clothing and accessories (watches and bracelets) at least two hours before your session. This way you don't have marks on your skin. Those can had hours to editing.
  • You may want to include a few baby things like a cute pair of shoes or a cherished family heirloom in your photo.
Clothing Suggestions:
  • Solid colored shirts focus the attention on your tummy's shape and glowing expression. Large patterns can be distracting. Avoid big floral prints, swirls, plaids, and stripes.
  • Form fitting clothes with a little stretch will compliment your figure rather than loose clothing.
  • Long sleeves tend to be the most flattering, but sleeveless and spaghetti straps work well! Avoid t-shirt length sleeves. They cut the arm oddly creating something that can look unflattering.
  • If you want to show your bare belly, consider wearing a top and skirt or pants that won't leave binding marks across your tummy.
  • Choose silk or cotton fabrics as they drape beautifully around a pregnant body.
  • Empire-waist blouses and dresses, button-up shirts, tank tops, long drawstring skirts and tie dresses can really enhance your blossoming shape.
  • Dark jeans and black tapering yoga pants make your legs look long and slim.
  • Pick your foot wear based on your outfit. If you have shoes that show your toes, consider getting a pedicure.
  • Consider your undergarments with the style of clothing you choose to wear. You might not want lines showing under your clothing.
  • Accessories can enhance and personalize your style. A cheerful scarf, sweater, or even chunky jewelry can add fun splashes of color.
